Andrey Stenin photo contest exhibition starts in New Delhi

The exhibition of photographs that won an international competition for young photojournalists named after Andrei Stenin was presented in the Indian capital. The exhibition is located in one of the largest art galleries in India. It will work throughout the week, RIA Novosti reports. 

There are more than 70 photos taken by photographers from Russia, Turkey, Italy, and Spain among the exhibits.

Previously, the exhibition was already presented in South Africa, Belgium, Argentina, Israel and China. It is held for the 12th time since the beginning of the year. The exhibition started its work in India for the first time.

The exhibition was also presented at the UN headquarters. According to the organizers, the journey of the exhibition will not end. It will be brought to Germany, Japan and Hungary.

The photos included in the exhibition attracted great attention of the people of India. The opening ceremony was attended by heads of institutions and departments, cultural figures and many residents of New Delhi, including young photographers, who are just starting their way into profession. 

There are works by Indian photographers Ajay Kumar and Amit Mulik. 

The photos presented at the exhibition make up a bright kaleidoscope of images and plots. 

As Russkiy Mir reported, this is the 5th season of the competition in a row. There is a week left until the end of accepting applications. 

Andrey Stenin died nearby Donetsk on August 6, 2014 carrying out his editorial assignment. The contest aims at preserving memory of him, supporting young photojournalists and pave their way to the world of advanced photography.

Since its inception, the contest turned into a large international venue where everyone can express their own opinion. It also gives young photographers a good start to a greater media life.
