The spiritual works of Russian composers Sergey Rakhmaninov, Pavel Chesnokov, Georgy Sviridov etc. have been performed in the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican by the famous Vladislav Chernushenko's Saint Petersburg Court Chapel. The musicians also performed in the Roman Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, TASS reports. The concerts were held in the framework of the Russian Seasons cultural and educational project. The Russian Ministry of Culture helped to organize it.

Russian religious music was performed in the main temple of the Catholic Church during the divine service led by Angelo Comastri, Vicar General of His Holiness for the State of Vatican City. In Rome the choir performed Russian and European sacred music.

The Saint Petersburg Court Chapel is one of the oldest creative teams in Russia. It originates from the 15th century from the Choir of the sovereign singing clerks established by Ivan III. The chapel is considered one of the symbols of Saint Petersburg, in 1703 the choir performed at celebrations in honor of the city founded by Peter the Great.

Russian Seasons has an extensive program in Italy. The organizers acquaint the Italian public with the best examples of classical and modern Russian art - ballet, painting, cinema, drama and even animation.

Note, the Russian animation holiday that took place in Rome in October as part of the Russian Seasons. Dozens of young Russian compatriots and children from Italian families watched the classic of Soviet animation and the new works of Soyuzmultfilm.
