Tretyakov Gallery presents unique art collection in Vatican

About 40 paintings to be included into the Russian Way exhibition in Italy. Rich Tretyakov Gallery collection of works from Dionisius to Malevich will travel to Vatican, RIA Novosti reports. The exhibition will open on November, 19. According to the head of Tretyakov Gallery Zemfira Tregulova, this unique project is a milestone.

Appearance of Christ to People by A. Ivanov, Unexpected by I. Repin, Demon by M. Vrubel, 15-17 centuries icons and other masterpieces to be on the view. Exhibition entrance is free. 

According to the Vatican Museum director Barbara Jatta, the City of Rome is looking forward to see the Russian artworks that  very rarely travel outside Russia. 

This event is a reciprocal step to the visit of Vatican museum collection to Russia last year. Artworks of Caravaggio, Raphael, Perugino, Veronese were on the view.
