Kazan to hold international Dialogue of Civilizations Forum backed by UNESCO

Russian city of Kazan carries out a forum on intercultural dialogue 4-7 September under the auspices of UNESCO, KAZANFIRST reports. Now 189 people has confirmed their participation, 64 foreign guests are among them.

Many honorable guests will attend the forum: goodwill ambassadors, coordinators of national programs from 25 countries, representatives of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).

The forum has outstanding participants, says Tatyana Larionova, CEO of the non-profit organization Republican Foundation for the Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Tatarstan. She did not disclose the entire program but noted that the guests will see three UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Kazan Kremlin, the Bulgarian Historical and Archaeological Complex and the Assumption Cathedral and Monastery of the town-island of Sviyazhsk.

The event also schedules on September 5 the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival and a ceremonial Kazan City Hall meeting with the head of the Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov.
