The Latvian Russian Union will continue to support Russian schools in Latvia and organize a protest against school reforming in the country, Sputnik news agency reports. A mass protest is scheduled for mid-September.

The march in defence of Russian schools is planned on September 15. It will start in Riga's main street to reach Town Hall Square at the end. People from Riga, other Latvian towns and European countries who stand for the education in Russian will gather there.

According to the organizers, it is necessary that about 30,000 people join the march. The LRU is convinced that if up to 100,000 people participate the protest in the next six months then the authorities will have to return Russian to schools.

In addition, now they are choosing the title for the new action. The first one was called Angry Parents' March, the second one's name was May Day for Russian schools.

As Russkiy Mir reported, the previous event was timed to coincide with the Children's Day celebrated on June 1. About 10,000 people came to the rally dedicated to May Day.

"The new name should also carry some sense and motivate people to fight and win," organizers say. There are some variants: Autumn storm, Russian assault, Storm in September, Russian lesson, Russian choice etc. People can vote for them on social networks.

In July Verses March was held in Riga in support of Russian schools. The participants recited the Russian writers and poets for three hours. More than 40 people gave speeches at the microphone.

In mid-August the LRU organized in Latvia an auto race in defense of education in Russian.
