Russian actors earned standing applauses by the Berlin audience after Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA performance, according to RIA Novosti. The staging was brought to Germany by St. Petersburg Eifman Ballet.

This staging became a part of the road tour around Europe, which started at the beginning June in Monaco. The route goes through 4 countries as a part of the project called Gala Russe. The project continues tradition of advancing Russian culture at the Cote d’Azur started by famous promoter Sergei Dyagilev with his Russian Seasons at the beginning of the last century.

As per the leading actor, Oleg Gabyshev, the staging was already demonstrated in Berlin, but then the audience was offered a new version. Now it is a completely different performance. The story behind it is the same, but choreography, light props, decorations were all changed. The most advanced technologies are used at the staging.

According to organizers, the name of Boris Eifman is widely known. People know him and admire his works. The only circumstance which goes against set traditions is that German mass media did not write anything about this road tour from Saint Petersburg. It might be connected to the informational blockade the German mass media decided to declare to Russia on the eve of the FIFA World Cup.

Red Giselle ballet is scheduled at Potsdam Square’s Theatre. In the center of the staging is one of the most famous Russian ballet dancers of the beginning of the 20th century Olga Spessivtseva.

Eifman Ballet Theatre will perform in Germany from June 12 until June 16.
