16 Russian theaters abroad will join the Big Tour program this year, TASS reports. According to Deputy Minister of Culture Alla Manilova, among them will be creative teams from South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

The Deputy Minister noted that a year ago, performances by theaters from six countries were included in a single tour and concert plan. 11 teams came to tour in Russia.

Alla Manilova is sure that the Big Tour is the best tool for integrating foreign Russian theaters into the Russian theatrical environment.

The goal of the project is to preserve and popularize folk art and theatrical art. One of the themes of the Big Tour will be the work of Alexander Ostrovsky.
