Chinese experts learned about Russkiy Mir Foundation activities

Russian-Chinese conference Russia and China: Current Development Challenges was held in Shanghai on April 25–26. The event was organised by The Valdai Discussion Club. The Chair of the Regional Programs at the Russkiy Mir Foundation and CEO of the Russian National Committee on BRICS Research Georgy Toloraya took part in the Sixth session of the Russian-Chinese conference. The topic was The Role of the Traditional Culture in Contemporary World and Russian-Chinese Relations.

In the corse of his speech, the Foundation representative has told about the necessity of the targeted efforts "from above" for the closer interaction and understanding between the two ancient civilizations. Unlike the situation with acknowledging the European civilization heritage, Russian-Chinese relations need “High Priests” - specialists from two very diverse countries who could play a role of conduits in the transmission process. Georgy Toloraya supported details on the Russkiy Mir work in this direction, which is important for preparing Russian language specialists in China.
