Lebanon hosts Day of Russian culture

The Day of Russian Culture was held in the city of Tyre, Lebanon. It was attended by almost 1500 people. The event was organized by the Russian-speaking community club and city administration, RIA Novosti informs. 

According to the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Lebanon, the primary task of such events is to support Russian-speaking community. 

The agenda included a concert with participation of music amateur troupes. They performed Russian folk songs, songs of Russian composers, Russian songs. A charity fair was organized offering Russian crafts and souvenirs. Guests treated themselves with Russian national cuisine dishes. All the gathered finances will be donated to the city orphanages. 

A similar event is planned in other cities of Lebanon. The Day of Russian Culture is to take place in one of the settlements of Beqaa valley on May 1. 

“We are today together with our close Russian friends again at this well-organized festival. I hope that year by year the scale of the event will grow. Russian and Lebanon nationals present here have one heart. It is a Russian-Lebanon heart. From the political point of view, I would like to thank Russia for its position and support of us in fighting the terrorism,” Tyre’s Governor Hasan Dabuk stated.
