Days of Russian Culture launched in Armenia

The Days of Russian Culture have kicked off in Armenia, the website of the Russian Ministry of Culture reports. The solemn ceremony took place on the stage of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in the presence of the Secretary of State - Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Nadezhda Reverend and Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Arayik Khzmalyan.

Spectators admired performances of the past winners of the International Tchaikovsky Competition. Works by Sergei Rachmaninov, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Alexander Borodin and other classics were performed.

The Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova addressed the musicians and the public with a welcoming speech. She recalled the close connection between Russian and Armenian cultures, which is clearly reflected in the musical tradition of the two nations.

Nadezhda Reverend and Arayik Khzmalyan discussed the results of the Russian-Armenian forum of education in the cultural sphere, held last spring in Yerevan. They outlined plans for further cooperation. Reverend invited her Armenian colleagues to the Children's International Cultural Forum, which will be held in Moscow for the second time, it is scheduled for August.
