The regime of the humanitarian pause started in eastern Ghouta, RIA Novosti reports. The set up humanitarian corridor connects Damascus with the outskirts occupied by the terrorists. The pause is meant to help civilians leave the region of military operations.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu declared the pause, which was approved by the Russian President. It is open from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm local time on a daily basis.

A mobile medical station was set up near the humanitarian corridor in the populated settlement, transportation vehicles are on duty to transfer refugees to temporary shelters. Russian military police and the state army soldiers of Syria secure the exit out of the humanitarian corridor.
Nevertheless, people cannot leave the area, as terrorists continue shootings. According to General Victor Pankov, nobody managed to leave this region so far.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov encouraged US coalition partners in Syria to make the terrorists stop fire and to render humanitarian aid to the country’s population.
