Russian diplomats note growth of Anti-Russian publications in Britain

According to the diplomats, mentioning Russian president in the articles became a trigger to catch audience’s attention to publications, which would not be read otherwise.

A series of twitter messages published under #banquetspeech hashtag refer to Theresa May’s speech. It is worth reminding that giving her annual speech about external politics, British Prime Minister turned all her critics to Russia. She accused Russia of illegal annexation of Crimea, participation in Ukrainian conflict, cyber-spying activities and hacker attacks as well as interference with elections in some countries.

Russian Embassy in London has explained that programme speech of Prime Minister has put a beginning of unreasoned wave of criticism towards Russia.

The embassy gives Guardian’s publication as an example. Its authors state that RT channel in Great Britain is watched by more than six thousand people per weak, whereas BBC audience exceeds eight million people. The Embassy is surprised why a small number of Russian channel’s spectators became a reason for such huge turmoil.
