Third World Youth Forum of Russian compatriots concludes

Global RussiaThird World Youth Forum of Russian compatriots "Destiny of Russia: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow." has concluded, as per Bulgarian Embassy in Russia.

More than 100 from 70 countries participated in this major event that was held in Bulgarian capital September 22-25.

Let us remember, round tables and seminars were held to discuss the role of Russian compatriots and their contribution into cultural and economic life of their native countries, opportunities of further development and strengthening of ties with Russia.

Participants of the forum have attended Memorial to Soviet Army Officers – liberators in Sofia to honor the memory of the perished soldiers. Our compatriots also have visited the monument to Alexander II. Under his rule, Bulgaria was saved from Ottoman Yoke and regained its independence. Participants ora used a procession on Sofia streets marching with flags of their countries, honoring the Tsar Liberator.

"Russia came in Bulgaria two times: during Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 and WW2, each time with liberating mission," reminded Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Anatoly Makarov to young compatriots.

The last day of the forum was dedicated to summarizing the discussions and voicing out specific proposals in enterprise development, Russian language and Education abroad, and promoting compatriots' interaction Russia. The final resolution didn't come easy and was fiercely debated.
