Russia cuts US Embassy stuff and seizes US property in Moscow

28.07.2017

Russian authorities will seize two US diplomatic warehouses located on Dorozhnaya Street and the country house in Serebryany Bor in Moscow. Also US Embassy is ordered to draw down its staff to 455 persons by September. This decision will come in force at the beginning of next month, TASS informed.

As MFA has commented Russia may retaliate further.

Russian Foreign Ministry has stressed that if Washington would continue to seize the number of Russian diplomats in US, Moscow will take reciprocal steps.

Let us remember, before leaving the White House Barack Obama has ordered to seize two Russian diplomatic compounds and expelled 35 Russian diplomats in December 2016. At the time Russian President Vladimir Putin decided not to exacerbate the situation, and has not responded to sanctions imposed. However this issue was not resolved during G20 summit meeting in Hamburg.
