Moscow and Tel Aviv agreed to take into account the employment history in calculating pensions and benefits, Lenta.ru reports. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Russian Federation Maxim Topilin and his colleague from Israel Minister of Welfare and Social Services Haim Katz have signed the corresponding document. This decision will start acting from the beginning of October 2017.

As the Ministry of Labor commented, an employment history will be summed up while determining a legal amount of pension. It could be also done in case if there are not enough working hours in the country of application, but there's a legal working history in the other country. The pension amount is to correspond with the retirement scheme regulations in the territory of the State.

The Pension Fund of the Russian Federation plans to open a consultation center in Israel.

Let us advise, the agreement on cooperation in the field of social security was concluded last summer, when Putin and Netanyahu signed a treaty that enables former citizens of Russia if they moved to Israel before 1992, to receive Russian pensions. The agreement was ratified by parliamentarians. However, it is not clear yet who will be in charge with “combined pensions” in Russia, the Pension Fund or Federal budget of Russia.
