Ambassadors from Russia and other countries, creative workers, public figures, our compatriots and those interested in Russian culture took part in the opening ceremony.

Russian Ambassador in Korea Alexander Timonin greeted the audience. he has reminded that this week 218th Pushkin-s birthday was celebrated. The diplomat has added that four years ago the Pushkin monument was erased in Seul, and during this period it’s become a real attraction for all Russian literature and culture admirers.

It’s worth mentioning that the space for the Russian poet’s memorial was provided by Lotte Hotel. Its Chief Manager Kim Chan Khang has told that there’s an idea of cultural exchange with St. Petersburg. Another branch of Lotte Hotel is going to be built in the Northern Russia’s capital, and a famous Korean writer, Pak Kyongni monument to be raised there as well.
