First Russian Theatre festival starts in Toscana

Flickr/Rosmarie VoegtliFirst Russian Theatre festival starts in Toscana, Italy, TASS reports. Cute city, the home of wellness center and famous Italian terme Montecatini hosts the festival World of Russian Theatre.

The head of the festival and the chef editor of Teatral (Theater Geek) magazine Valery Yakov has invited several Russian theaters from Europe and USA to participate in this 4-day event.

Dusseldorf theater Backstage will perform Slavomir Mrozek absurdist play Strip-tease. The premier staging of Roland Schimmelpfennig's tragicomedy Women From the Past Times by German theater BridgeS, along with poetic performance based on Evgeny Kluev's Tales Just in Case by Italian theater Multigorod might become highlights of this festival. Although spectators will be able to find their own personal favorite.

There are also few plays for kids brought by Bulgarian Chamber theater and Austrian performance group 8+.

The main point of the event is to promote Russian culture.The best performance of the festival will be shown in Moscow.

World of Russian Theatre festival will last until June 1.
