Runet patriarch Anton Nosik dies

Anton Nosik, often called "the patriarch of Russian Internet” has died at the age of 51 due to a heart attack today, June 9th. 

The first Russian-language blogger, one of the former managers of Russian search engine Rambler and LiveJournal blogging platform, Anton Nosik was one of the most recognised people not only in internet industry but also among Russian-language intellectuals.

Together with the Moscow News Publishing House and one of the oldest news agencies in Russia gazeta.ru Anton Nosik has launched first serious English-language website MosNews, to furnish foreigners with the up-to-date information about Russia 11 years ago. He has also founded very important Russian business news portal bfm.ru. 
 
Anton Nosik was one of the owners of SMM company Hairy Cheese at the time when social media marketing was about to become popular in Russia. He also was a co-founder of an internet charity foundation pomogi.ru.

Close friend of Nosik, Russian journalist Maksim Kononenko has written post mortem where he’s clearly stated that “There has been no serious Russian internet project raised and developed without Anton Nosik. But he was not just a super efficient person. He was absolutely unique and charismatic."
