Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin expressed his admiration for Kamila Valieva’s performance, TASS reports. ''Good God, he wrote in the comments under a video of the figure skater skating in Gorky Park, Moscow.
This is not the first time that the movie star admires the skill of the Russian athlete. At the 2022 Olympics, when she became the team figure skating champion, Baldwin compared her performance to a song, a poem and a painting. The actor also called the Russian figure skater a great talent and supported her after the doping scandal that happened to her.
Valieva's doping test, taken a year ago, showed a positive result. Trimetazidine was found in it. The test result was provided on February, 8 by the anti-doping laboratory, which operates in the Swedish capital. On the same day, RUSADA imposed a temporary suspension on Valieva. Later, the athlete successfully protested this decision. The test result was published in February 2022, during the Olympic Games in Beijing.
At that time, the skater had already won gold in the team tournament. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) refused to disqualify her from further participation in the Olympics. In the individual tournament, Valieva became fourth. The CAS is expected to rule on the athlete's case by February, 12, 2024.
