The Russian Musicians Union (RMU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Musicians Association (CMA), Classicalmusicnews.ru website reports.

The largest musicians' association in China, founded in 1949, is not only built upon individual memberships but also serves as a unifying force for diverse professional communities. These include unions of composers, orchestral musicians, performers on traditional instruments, and more. Similar to the RMC, this Association proudly represents China in the International Music Council (IMC), functioning as the National Music Council.

This agreement is a result of the International Conference "Chinese Music Culture and Russia" held in September 2023. During this conference, Yang Yandi, Vice Chairman of the Association of Chinese Musicians and Rector of Harbin Conservatory, expressed the commencement of a new cultural era in the relationship between Russia and China.

At the signing ceremony, the head of the Association of Chinese Musicians, a composer and professor at the Central Beijing Conservatory of China Ye Xiaogang emphasized the importance of education and culture as foundational elements in fostering mutual understanding between the two nations. He stressed that the collaboration between the CMA and the RMS would significantly contribute to strengthening the creative bonds between musicians from China and Russia.
