Russian compatriots and Finns continue to leave flowers near the tank, which is installed in Helsinki, RIA Novosti reports.

The Finnish authorities decided to install a Russian tank, burned in Ukraine, on the square in front of the parliament building. Participants in a protest against the closure of the Russian border began bringing flowers to it in memory of the fallen Russian soldiers.

Casper Cannosto, who heads the government body behind the display, told local media that the flowers are removed ''many times a day.''  According to him, the Russians leave St. George ribbons near the tank. They are brought when there is no one in the square. At the beginning of the week, four people sang the Russian anthem next to the tank.

The Russian Embassy sent a note of protest to the Finnish Foreign Ministry. Russian diplomats called the actions of the Finnish authorities blasphemy. In their opinion, with the help of this display, Helsinki wants to incite hatred towards Russia. Residents of the city are also outraged by the cynicism of the authorities. As a result of such steps, relations between Russia and Finland will become even worse, the embassy believes.
