Ivan Turgenev's Bezhin Meadow story to be published in Russian and French in Belgium, marking the great writer's 205th birthday on November 9, TASS reports.

The University of Mons's Turgenev Research Center will publish the book with illustrations by young Russian and Belgian artists.

The translation into French was done by Anna Godard from the Mons center. This collaborative project between the Russian museum and the Belgian university will first release the book in Belgium, followed by publication in Russia. An exhibition showcasing the included illustrations will accompany the edition's presentation.

Additionally, a special immersive performance in Spasskoye Lutovinov has been prepared in honor of the writer's anniversary, involving reserve employees and their children. The performance takes spectators on a journey from the stables to the campfire, recreating scenes from "Bezhin Meadow" with the characters welcoming guests and offering herbal tea.
