Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held more than 30 meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, refuting the myth of Russia’s isolation spread by the West. At a press conference following the assembly, Sergei Lavrov stated that interesting and promising projects were discussed at the meetings, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Lavrov noted that the states of the Global South follow their national interests, not willing to join Western anti-Russian sanctions. The Foreign Minister confirmed Moscow’s readiness to work with those countries that will not go against their own interests because of Washington's critisism.

Moscow is ready to negotiate a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine, Sergei Lavrov once again confirmed, while expressing doubt that Kyiv and the West want peace. According to the minister, Russia’s conflict is not with Ukraine, but with the West, which is fighting ''with the hands and bodies of Ukrainians.” The minister called Zelensky’s formula ''absolutely unachievable'' and said that Moscow is ready for negotiations, but will not consider proposals for a ceasefire, ''because once we considered it, you deceived us.''

Answering a question about children taken from the combat zone, Sergei Lavrov noted that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who made a corresponding attack against Russia at a meeting of the UN Security Council, did not provide evidence.

Sergei Lavrov explained in detail the situation with the children, noting that Russia took them to a safe place from the conflict zone and is ready to provide named information about where these children are currently located.

The topic of the grain deal was also raised at the press conference. Sergei Lavrov recalled that the humanitarian corridors operating under the agreement were used by the enemy to attack Russian ships. He noted that Moscow is ready to return to the deal if all the conditions of the Russian side are met.
