The St. George ribbon was taken from a Polish citizen at the Russian-Estonian border, RIA Novosti reports. He was heading to Estonia in his car, passing through control at the border checkpoint in Narva.

Border guards fined a Polish citizen 400 euros and took away his ribbon.

The use of St. George's ribbon is prohibited in Estonia. This year, the country has banned celebrating Victory Day using Russian and Soviet symbols in a number of regions where there is a large Russian community.

In May, Estonian police detained a resident of the city of Kohtla-Jarve for refusing to remove the St. George ribbon from his car. The owner of the car was handcuffed and a criminal case was opened.
