Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia on official visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un, RIA Novosti reports. Their meeting took place at the Vostochny cosmodrome, which is located in the Amur region.

Kim Jong-un thanked Vladimir Putin for the invitation to visit Russia.

The heads of the two countries shook hands at the central entrance to the launch vehicle assembly and testing building of the unified technical complex.

The leaders of Russia and North Korea toured the spaceport and then began negotiations.

According to the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov, a discussion of current issues is planned with the participation of delegations from both countries. Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un will talk face to face. In addition, an official dinner is expected in honor of the distinguished guest.

The heads of state will exchange views on the situation developing in the region and discuss various aspects of relations between the two countries. There are no plans for a press conference following the visit of the DPRK leader to the Russian Federation.

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously noted that one of the issues will be the provision of humanitarian assistance to the residents of North Korea.
