The 2nd Without Borders International Festival of Circus Art will bring together groups and artists from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Australia in September in St. Petersburg. The festival will be hosted by the St. Petersburg State Circus on the Fontanka (Cinizelli Circus) from September, 14 to September, 17, TASS reports.

The Russian State Circus noted that circus performers who had passed the competitive selection received invitations to the festival. St. Petersburg is waiting for performers from China, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Ethiopia, Australia, Japan, Guatemala, and the CIS countries.

Among those wishing to take part in the festival were also performers from France, South America and the United States.

Director General of the Russian State Circus Sergei Belyakov noted that the festival, aimed at international cooperation, has acquired particular relevance today. He proves that the circus can give impetus to cooperation.

The festival, held by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Russian State Circus, was founded last year after Russian circus performers were refused participation in the festival in Monte Carlo.
