Russians in different countries celebrated anniversary of Vladimir Mayakovsky

The anniversary of Vladimir Mayakovsky was celebrated by Russian compatriots in different countries, the website of the Moscow government reports.

In the capital of Abkhazia, the audience was invited to the House of Moscow.

A reciting competition took place in Astana as part of the Kitap Fest Astana-2023 book festival. Also in the capital of Kazakhstan, Mayakovsky Week was organized for the anniversary date.

Fans of Russian literature in Kyrgyzstan gathered for a creative evening, where, with the participation of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo, they prepared a mini-performance about love in the poet's life.

An interactive lesson on the work of Mayakovsky took place at the Russian language courses in Mongolia. The listeners were offered to put together puzzles depicting the posters of the poet.

A literary evening was held in Cyprus, and a book exhibition was held in Lebanon.

In Cambodia, students of Russian language courses performed satirical poems by the author. On Saturday, July, 22, a literary festival in honor of Mayakovsky will take place in Baku.

Vladimir Mayakovsky was born in the south of the Russian Empire, in the Georgian village of Baghdati, into a family of descendants of Cossacks. In his youth, the future poet was captured by revolutionary ideas, he became interested in poetry during his stay in Butyrka prison.

Later he joined the Futurists, gained wide popularity thanks to the publication of his poems and public speaking. At the age of less than 20 years, Mayakovsky released his first poetry collection "I", wrote the poem "Nate!" and the play "Vladimir Mayakovsky".

After the revolution, he was declared one of the leading poets of the country. The most famous works of the poet are the poems "About this", "Good!", and others. He wrote poems for children, which earned popularity.

The poet passed away in April, 1930.
