Among Chinese tourists visiting Russia, there is a growing interest in Russian cuisine. Russian restaurateurs are preparing to respond to the trend by opening new catering outlets, RIA Novosti reports.

Representatives of tour operators note that almost all groups coming from China want to get acquainted with national cuisine whilr visiting Russia. It is stressed that before the coronavirus pandemic, this trend was not observed.

It is noted that tourists are driven by the desire to try real Russian cuisine, among the most popular dishes are borscht and meat and potatoes in a pot.

The tourism industry notes that Russian restaurants need time to prepare for the new trend and organize a mass service for tourists from China - adjust the menu, recruit and train staff.

The number of tourists from China coming to Russia has grown after the visit of the head of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping to Moscow.
