A representative office of the International Movement of Russophiles (IMR) has appeared in Italy, TASS reports. Eliseo Bertolazi, a journalist and political commentator, headed its work. According to him, the representative office will work in Milan.

He assured that the IMR participants in Italy support the idea of the movement, which is aimed at countering Russophobia, and promised to hold events in defense of Russian literature, history, and music.

The Italian office will develop cooperation with various cultural associations, such as ''Veneto-Russia", the Russian House in Verona and many others.

Greetings on the occasion of the opening of the Italian representative office were sent by the chairman of the IMR Nikolai Malinov. Dmitry Shtodin, head of the Russian Consulate General in Milan, took part in the ceremony.
