Geography Night held in 25 countries

Residents of Russia and 24 foreign countries became participants in the international campaign created by the Russian Geographical Society (RGS) - Geography Night. From June, 2 to June, 4, 32 foreign sites held 55 events, which were attended by almost two thousand guests, the RGS website reports.

The campaign was held for the 4th time, this season almost 1,500 events were organized at more than 900 venues. It is noted that in comparison with last year, the campaign has tripled the scale.

According to the RGS, the campaign is held annually in China, Germany, France, Poland, Argentina, Israel, Serbia and many other countries. This year, Turkey, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Georgia and Abkhazia joined the project for the first time.

Georgraphy Night opened in Moscow at the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center, the ceremony was dedicated to the history of space exploration and included meetings with cosmonauts and a display of images from orbit.

Geography Night includes many informative, educational and creative events that tell about Russian geography, natural resources, and the culture of the peoples of the country. Its purpose is also to promote Russian tourism.
