Russian scientists continue to participate in research work within the framework of international mega-science projects, including experiments by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Valery Falkov said at a plenary meeting of the Russian Federation Council, TASS reports.

Speaking about the interaction between Russian and foreign scientists, the minister said that cooperation in this direction with unfriendly countries is difficult. However, Falkov noted, the anti-Russian policy of restrictions did not become a reason for refusing the participation of Russian specialists in international mega-science projects.

Falkov stressed that at present the Russians continue their successful activities at CERN in Geneva, "obtaining fundamental scientific results and defending Russia's scientific priorities."

According to him, up to 100 Russian scientists participate in the projects of this organization. As for cooperation with friendly countries, according to Valery Falkov, it is not only preserved, but also expanding in a number of areas.

The list of countries with which Russian scientists maintain close professional ties includes China, India and other countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
