Music by Sergei Rachmaninoff performed in Jerusalem for 100th anniversary of ROCOR

Russian church hymns were performed in a concert hall in the center of Jerusalem at a concert dedicated to the centenary of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) and the 150th anniversary of the outstanding Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff. The ambassadors of Russia and Belarus, as well as representatives of ROCORvisited the concert, Sedmitsa.RU reports.

The concert was organized by the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission within ROCOR. The members of the combined male choir of the Patriarch Tikhon Russian-American Musical Institute performed Sergei Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil.

The concert was attended by the ambassadors of Russia and Belarus to Israel Anatoly Viktorov and Yevgeny Vorobyov, the head of the Russian mission in Palestine Gocha Buachidze, as well as Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, archbishops, bishops and rectors of ROCOR churches.
