Russian schoolchildren win eight awards at Asian Physics Olympiad

The Russian team won eight medals at the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2022), the website of the Ministry of Education reports. Representatives of more than 20 countries of the Asia-Pacific region fought for the victory. The Physics Experts Tournament was organized by India and was held online.

Young Russians became the first three times. Gold medals went to Maxim Permyakov from Mordovia, Oleg Kalashnikov and Vadim Erin from the Moscow region. Muscovites Daniil Rynkevich and Ilya Gladyshev became silver medalists. Silver also went to Daniyar Tukhvatulin from the Moscow region. The top three was closed by a resident of St. Petersburg Maximilian Timofeev and Vladimir Savintsev from the Moscow region.

The team participants prepared for the contest for a year at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and the Sirius Educational Center.

The Asian Physics Olympiad has been held since 2000. It follows the rules of the International Physics Olympiad: one theoretical round and one experimental round, each lasting five hours.
