International team to shoot film about Dostoevsky's wife

Fyodor Dostoevsky's wife Anna Snitkina will become the main character of a new feature, TASS reports. Russian film company Hype Film is going to produce the movie, Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska - to film it.

The film is based on Andrew D. Kaufman's book ''The Gambler Wife A True Story of Love, Risk, and the Woman Who Saved Dostoyevsky.” 

Hype Film named Malgorzata Szumowska one of the most sought-after directors of world cinema, her films have repeatedly participated in international festivals. The producers are confident that this story is "universal, relevant and timeless."

The film will be released under "The Gambler's Wife" title. The Polish Nowhere film company is going to take part in the production.

The director herself considers this work an honor. She was obsessed with Dostoevsky in her youth.
