American speech technique coach Adrienne Nelson shared that she uses songs to set the Russian accent. Adrienne works with Hollywood actors, helping them to get a desired accent, RuNews24.ru reports.

When she is asked for help with Russian accent to artists who perform the opera singer roles, she uses compositions from the repertoire of the famous Russian classical performer Anna Netrebko.

Adrienne Nelson believes that the Russian language is “very methodical and rhythmical,” and that the Russian accent brings pride, beauty and passion into the role. The coach also uses special warm-up exercises based on complex sounds, if there's enough time. In case of the tight schedule she recommends behaving more pushy and freely on stage, which supposedly allows to pronounce new sounds better.

According to the coach, the most difficult thing for the US actors reproducing Russian words is to understand the right place for a logical emphasis, and not to pronounce words with the equal strength and intonation.
