An exhibition of Orthodox icons has opened in Argentina, according to the website of the Russian Orthodox Church. It is located in Mar del Plata. The exposition was organized by the local parish of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.

The opening ceremony was attended by Russian diplomats, local priests, government officials, activists, compatriots, and cultural figures.

According to Bishop Leonidas of Argentina and South America, icons were treated differently at different times. In some eras, the icons were prohibited. As a result, thousands of holy faces were destroyed. Then the attitude towards icons has changed since then.
