Russian schoolchildren win European Olympiad in Physics

The Russian schoolchildren won two gold medals at the European Olympiad in Physics for Schoolchildren (EuPhO); in total, the competitions brought five medals to the Russian national team. Three Russian participants won bronze medals, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper reports.

Daniil Zhitov and Timur Pryadilin won gold medals, three other members of the team received the bronze ones. According to the competition rules,  each team has the right to nominate no more than five participants.

Teachers of the Laboratory for Working with Gifted Children at MIPT Institute helped the schoolchildren to prepare for the competition..

Russkiy Mir reported that in June Russian schoolchildren won 12 medals at the European Geography Olympiad. Over 150 participants from 13 countries competed for the awards.
