Russian team wins 12 medals at European Geography Olympiad

Students of Russian schools have won 12 awards at the European Geography Olympiad (EGEO), TASS reports. 

More than 150 people from 13 countries competed for the awards. The Russian team consisted of 15 people.

EGEO became the first tournament this year that brought together experts in geography. It is a preparatory stage for the International Geography Olympiad. Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the competition was held online. Belgrade was chosen as its capital.

EGEO participants competed in two age categories, Russia took part in both. The junior team - up to 15 years old - won four silver medals. The senior team got three silver and three bronze medals.
