Syrian president gets jab of Sputnik V

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was vaccinated against coronavirus infection with the Russian drug Sputnik V, RIA Novosti writes. 

the Syrian Ambassador Riyadh Haddad, who announced the news at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, also said that the 3rd stage of Sputnik V vaccination was underway in Syria. At the first stage, vaccines were given to medical workers and top officials of the country. At the moment, the Russian drug is avialable to everyone.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, was also vaccinated with the Russian drug. The president hopes that his example will encourage Bolivians to join the vaccination campaign and protect themselves from the virus.

Russia is supplying Sputnik V, the first registered coronavirus drug in the world, to 35 countries. According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the vaccine's success is due to its proven efficacy, safety and ease of transportation and storage.
