Russia's State Duma raised the age of youth to 35 years

The draft law on youth has passed the third, final, reading in the State Duma, the newspaper Vedomosti newspaper writes. The lower house of the Russian parliament raised the young age by five years.

The document proposes to consider as youth people aged 14 to 35 years. Nowadays, it is customary to refer to the youth as Russians between the ages of 14 and 30.

The deputies note that with the help of the bill the status of youth will be consolidated. In addition, an increase in age will enable young people to more actively use government support measures.

At the federal level, the law defines such concepts as “youth”, “young family”, “youth policy”, “youth public associations”.
