State Duma deputies condemned the policy pursued by the authorities of the Baltic republics. The statement supported by parliamentarians was issued on Tuesday, April 18, the website of the State Duma reports.

They called the course of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia towards the Russian-speaking population repressive. Nationalism and intolerance towards Russians are welcomed and encouraged in these states.

The State Duma recalled that 80 years had passed since the Latvians, Lithuanians and Estonians burned more than 400 Belarusian and Russian villages and destroyed civilians. The number of victims of the Winter Magic operation exceeded 13,000 people.

The Baltic states have long chosen a course of repression, nationalism and intolerance towards Russians have become common practice, the statement said. Children are being bullied not only in schools, but even in kindergartens, journalists are being persecuted, cultural and memorial heritage is being destroyed, and history is being falsified.

The Baltic republics are striving to completely oust the Russian language from all spheres of public life, from the media and the education system, and the authorities ''do not hide their neo-fascist sympathies, supporting the annual processions of SS legionnaires and at the same time prohibiting the Immortal Regiment campaign in memory of the veterans who liberated the Baltic states from the Nazis ".

Parliamentarians called unacceptable any manifestations of discrimination based on race, skin color, national or ethnic origin, political and other beliefs.
