The Festival of Russian Culture opened in the capital of Ireland on the eve of November 9. The holiday is held annually, during its existence it has become a notable event in the cultural life of the country. It is organized by the Council of the Russian Community of Ireland with the assistance of local authorities, the Russian Embassy and the Moscow administration.

Due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the current festival is held online. Its program includes lectures, film screenings, concerts and cartoons. The festival website also contains recordings of the welcoming speeches of the Russian Ambassador Yuri Filatov and the Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu.

A large program is planned, in which the works of Russian directors are presented. Most of the films come with English subtitles. This makes them accessible to an Irish audience interested in Russian culture.

In the year of the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II, viewers will see military films, including Sergei Bondarchuk's The Fate of a Man. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famous director and actor. A film about Alexander Nevsky will also be shown - this year the 800th anniversary of his birth is being celebrated.

The festival will end on November 15.
