The next year, 2021, has been declared the Russian-Greek Year of History, TASS reports. The relevant document was signed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias. The signing ceremony took place the day before, on October 26, during the visit of the head of Russian diplomacy to Athens.

Sergei Lavrov has no doubts that the document is of great importance for strengthening bilateral relations. In his opinion, the signing of the memorandum will allow starting another large-scale project in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Hopefully, he added, the Year of History will officially open in early 2021.

The program promises to be very eventful. Sergey Lavrov has no doubt that the project will be of interest to scientists, historians, archaeologists, and will also attract the attention of the general public in both Russia and Greece, especially young people.
