Russian culture will become the main theme of the Festival of Nations, Kultura TV channel reports. By tradition, it is hosted by Citta di Castello (Italy).

According to Aldo Sisillo, who heads the festival, the main focus will be on the art of the Silver Age. According to him, the local audience will get acquainted with the musical trends that began to develop actively at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Among other things, one can listen to the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Scriabin, Sergei Prokofiev and Nikolai Medtner.

The festival will open on August 22 with a performance by Russian pianist Dmitry Shishkin. Excerpts from Russian operas will be performed by opera soloist Maria Komarova. The festival program will also include the Peter and the Wolf educational project, musical and poetic compositions based on the verses of Russian poets.

The Festival of Nations will end on August 29.
