The athlete from the Krasnoyarsk Territory Peter Yan became the champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the lightest weight category (up to 61.2 kg). He became the second current holder of the title among the Russians - the belt among mixed-style fighters in lightweight belongs to Khabib Nurmagomedov, TASS reports.

Yan has been competing in the strongest and most popular UFC fighting championship in the world for two years, with seven victories on his account.

According to the Russian, the battle went according to his chosen tactics - in the first two rounds, Peter deliberately took the initiative, and then, after waiting for the opponent to get tired, launched a series of successful attacks.
