Metropolitan Opera screens Eugene Onegin on its website

Metropolitan Opera invites the fans of the classical vocal to watch the famous Eugene Onegin opera by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the Vestnik Kavkaza newspaper reports.

The broadcast will be conducted on the theater’s website and in the mobile application from 02:30 on July 11 to 01:30 on July 12, Moscow time.

The screening will be held as part of a program that combines the productions of the Metropolitan Opera of different years.

 The artistic director of the Mariinsky Theater, maestro Valery Gergiev, takes the place behind the conductor's console. 

The party of Tatiana is performed by the star of the world opera Anna Netrebko. Mariusz Kwiecień is playing Eugene Onegin . Peter Bechala performs one of his famous roles - Lensky, and the part of Olga is played by mezzo-soprano from Belarus Oksana Volkova.

The production of Deborah Warner took place on the legendary stage in New York almost eight years ago.
