Julian Henry Lowenfeld has presented the Pushkin - to the World project to the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, TASS reports. In 2020, Lowenfeld was awarded the Pushkin Medal for his great contribution to the study and preservation of Russian cultural heritage.

The American translator, poet, playwright, researcher of Pushkin’s art with Russian citizenship said that he wanted to make a film about the great Russian poet. He plans to start the project together with director Alexei Uchitel.

Another project is prepared in the theater sphere. Lowenfeld would like to stage a musical performance based on Little Tragedies. He is confident that the Feast During the Plague is as relevant today as ever, given the spread of coronavirus. The translator expressed his readiness to become the author of the production and noted that he had already written music. He has a relevant experience since he staged a performance with the troupe of Mikhail Baryshnikov in New York.  If the project was successful, Lowenfeld proposes turning the play into a film.

Among other provisions of the project is the installation of monuments to Pushkin in the main cities of the world and the construction of the Pushkin Center in Moscow.
