Restrictive measures aimed at combating the spread of coronavirus in the capital continue to be eased, RIA Novosti reports. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, from June 1, residents of the capital will be allowed to go for a walk. He said this during a video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, May 27.

Sobyanin called this decision difficult for the city authorities. The walks will be allowed in the test mode, the authorities are going to develop a schedule for it. The mayor promised to make the system as simple and affordable as possible but urged everyone not to leave the house at the same time. In addition, shops with non-food goods and household services - workshops, dry cleaners, and laundries - will start working in Moscow.

Sergei Sobyanin assured that the city is completely ready for the Victory Parade and its rehearsals. All issues have already been discussed with the Ministry of Defense, the mayor of Moscow added.

The head of state, in turn, noted that the epidemiological situation is stabilizing both in the country as a whole and in Moscow in particular. The number of cases in the capital has decreased by half compared with the peak numbers in early May. He also noted that many more people are discharged from Moscow hospitals daily than come in.

In general, the president called the work of the city authorities in the fight against coronavirus, despite the inevitable minor failures, responsible, thoughtful and balanced.
