Russian dancers performed the Swan Lake for the Chinese viewers. The performance, considered the hallmark of Russian ballet, was brought to China by a troupe from Astrakhan. Tours of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater in China have become the third in a row, every year they go on with great success, according to the Astrakhan News newspaper.

Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece was seen in nine cities, and everywhere the performances of the guests from Russia were greeted with prolonged applause. Not a single empty seat was left even in the House of National Assemblies in Beijing, which is designed for more than six thousand people.

The young Chinese ballerinas took the stage in Shanghai together with Russian dancers. They performed the dance of little swans. The chief choreographer of the theater from Astrakhan Konstantin Uralsky is sure that this moment symbolizes the strong ties of Russian-Chinese friendship. The performance will be a definite incentive to improve the choreographic art for beginners.

Konstantin Uralsky visited the Shanghai Ballet School, where he discussed issues of the modern training of ballet dancers with Chinese colleagues. In Shanghai, they became interested in the possibility of cooperation in the field of teaching the art of ballet.

The second part of the ballet troupe from Astrakhan continues to tour in France. The tour, like the recently completed tour in the UK, is accompanied by a theater orchestra under the direction of conductor Evgeny Kirillov.
