Classes in the Russian language and culture of Russia, quizzes and quests were included in the program of the Russian Language Week, which took place on the eve of Catholic Christmas in the Finnish-Russian school of Helsinki. The most well-informed contestants received prizes from the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Helsinki, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

Over seven hundred children and adolescents study Russian at a school in the Finnish capital. Among the students there are children from mixed and Finnish families. The unique teaching staff of the school is led by director Tula Vyaysanen, who received the Pushkin medal for her many years of work.

The many events of the Week included fascinating lessons, where participants learned a lot about the culture, traditions and sights of Russia. Students could share their knowledge during quizzes and contests.

The results of the international Tell a Tale! project were announced last week in Helsinki - children from Finland and many other countries wrote fairy tales in Russian. During the competition, schools in Finland hosted classes in the art of writing a fairy tale.
